The Koteshwar temple is in the form of cave temple. There are many idols which have been formed naturally.The Temple is present in the shape of a cave and lies on the banks of River Alaknanda. According to devotees, Lord Shiva meditated in this cave while going to Kedarnath and thus it includes the idols which have originated naturally. The temple is majorly visited by tourists and devotees during the festival of Mahashivratri.
