About
This ambitious restaurant is right behind the Holy Cross Church. The restaurant's architecture was cleverly designed to blend right in with the 9th-century church and the ruins in front, so its rustic look is an illusion. There are a bar and a huge peka in back of the restaurant for roasting lambs and suckling pigs; if you happen along when a roast is in progress, you won't be able to resist taking a table on the lovely stone terrace. Besides the usual grilled meat, the menu lists chicken breasts stuffed with bitter lettuce and bits of melon, and several special dishes like grilled lamb or tingul (turkey stew with prunes and potatoes) that have to be ordered 24 hours ahead. Luckily, the restaurant will prepare the roasted specials for even just one person, so it's worth a call if you can plan that far ahead.
