Konark Math, which is also known as a monastery, is located close to the Sun Temple. No deity is worshipped in the monastery and only Nirakar Brahma is worshipped. The concept of the Math is based on the Sunya Sadhana or the contemplation of the Eternal void. According to the local belief, this monastery is the Samba Ashram, where Samba raised several huts for worshipping the Sun.
