Kilol

Kilol is known for traditional designs in hand block prints, Kilol or "Play" came into being in 1986, when Mamta Mansingka played around with hand-woven borders of the Maheshwari saree and embellished them with hand-block prints of Jaipur. And lo and behold, the Kilol saree was born. It is now available in Kota, Chanderi, Tussar silks and Tussar cotton blends as well.

The shop which originated in Madhya Pradesh, is now a chain across the country. It sells sarees, stitched and unstitched suit pieces in hand-woven cotton, terry voile, and silk - Tussar, Chanderi and Maheshwari; kurtis and stoles. There are some jewellery pieces as well. The shop is uncluttered and spacious. Bedcovers, quilts, cushion covers and towels with bright Sanganer prints stand apart. The textiles are beautifully organized and neatly displayed and it is a pleasure to shop here. The shop also has an outlet in Gurgaon.
