kharbandi gompa monastery surrounded by beautiful gardens filled with tropical flowers and plants is located a short distance above Phuentsholing. It was established in 1967 by the Royal Grandmother, Ashi Phuntsho Choedron. A splendid view of Phuentsholing and the Bengal Plain can be observed from here. Several Indian pilgrims, particularly couples in hopes of conceiving children visit this monastery because according to a myth, an Indian pilgrim became pregnant after praying at this monastery to bear a child. For those who do not have parental ambitions, you can visit Kharbandi Gompa to see the statues of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and Guru Rimpoche along with paintings portraying scenes from the life of the Buddha
