About Kawagoe

Kawagoe is a short train trip from Tokyo that exudes a 17thcentury Japan ambiance. The city's nickname is"Little Edo"as it still retains some of its old clay facade warehouse-styled buildings that were then popular in old Tokyo. (Edo) Why visit Kawagoe Well, it has an old world charm that is quite difficult to find in Japan today. The city is full of tourist attractions such as temples and one that holds remains of the old Edo Castle. Besides, you may wander down a street where the only merchandise you can get are candies, especially made of potato. There is the Kita-in temple that houses 500 Rakan statues. Loads of sights for the tourist. There's a museum that features what life was like in old Edo. Festivals have very old origins and very colorful. Another attraction the visitor would surely find interesting are the many antique shops that hold shrine sales every 28thof the month.
