About
This square is named after the united city's first mayor (Budapest was only united in 1873 when it became an amalgamation of Buda, Pest, Obuda and Margaret Island). A statue of the mayor stands in the centre of the square. The two imposing buildings, which also stand on the square, are the Pest County Council building (painted a soft green) and the Budapest Town Hall over to the right.
