Jiqing Jie (night food street)

Jiqing Jie starting from Dazhi Jie Cuisines: Chinese, Asian

About

The street used to be a crowded area consisting of outdoor restaurants, making it an evening of dining and enjoying roving singers, musicians, sketch artists, flower sellers, photographers, and shoe shiners. However, the place has been overwhelmingly commercialized and some of the restaurants charge tourists unreasonably, which earned the area a bad reputation. Since then, fewer people go there. All the restaurants on this street serve similar fare and mainly seafood, which is generally satisfying. Like Sichuan cuisine, Hubei dishes incorporate a lot of pepper -- but not all the dishes are fiery.
