This place is famous for the historic massacre by General Dyer during the British rule in India. On 13 April In 1919, the British Police fired randomly on a peaceful assembly of unarmed people gathered in demand of freedom, which killed hundreds of men, women and children on the spot. The boundary walls still contain scars of bullets, which narrates the agonizing tale of acute brutality. This place contains a park as well. The Martyr's Gallery is open to all from 10 am to 4 pm during winters and from 9 am to 5 pm in summers.
