On the Limerick to Kerry border and beyond Newcastle West lies the village of Dromcollogher, the centre for the production of the finest Irish porcelain. It is a family-run business, which originated in Dresden in Germany. The porcelain is delicately handcrafted into intricate figurines, which are popular worldwide. In the factory you can see how the figurines are made, from the beginning of the process right through to the finished product. The showroom displays the full range of products made here, and a shop provides temptation for eager souvenir hunters. Slightly imperfect pieces are available at reduced prices for those hunting for a bargain. Guided tours are provided on request.
