The Irene Village Market is situated in the picturesque and sprawling grounds of the Smuts House Museum. This museum offers informative glimpses into the life and times of General Jan Smuts, South Africa's World War Two leader. This is an expansive market, with three hundred stalls selling art, crafts, antiques, furniture, plants, flowers and fresh produce. There is a tea garden here, with various home-made foods on offer. It is licensed for wine and malts, too. There is a crèche for children below seven, while those over seven can paint pottery, make candles and play on the jungle gym. There is plenty of safe parking.
