Trieste's small racetrack, Ippodromo di Montebello is situated a few minute's from the city center. Avid fans and first-timers can gather together for an evening that will be both entertaining and slightly out of the ordinary. Entrance is free, and the seating includes a two-story grandstand with nearly 3000 seats. You can eat and drink at either the two bars, or the delicious pizzeria. The 50 betting booths and the center make this one of the most equipped racetracks (according to the experts). The track itself is about a mile long. Afternoon races also take place. If you come by car, do not worry, as there is plenty of available parking.
