Horniman Gardens at Horniman Circle was built in memory of Benjamin Guy Horniman who fought for India's Independence from the British and the Circle and Gardens were named in his honour after it was initially known as Elphinstone Circle after Lord Elphinstone. The gardens have a lot of different exotic plants and trees which are not found anywhere else in Mumbai. There are music dance and street play festivals held here during the Kala Ghoda and Mumbai Festivals every year in January and February.
