The ambience doesn't get better than this at one of Tongren's few Tibetan restaurants. Monks and Tibetan government officials stroll in to sip yak butter tea and eat momos (yak dumplings). Try the chao yangrou (stir-fried mutton), the tsampa (barley flour mixed with yak butter, tea, and sugar), and the renshenguo mifan (ginseng rice). It's also a good place to relax with a cup of tea or a beer.
