Heji Huimian

Renmin Lu 3 Cuisines: Asian

About

The specialty at this always crowded halal restaurant in the center of town is the teyouhuimian (house specialty noodles), which consists of fresh coarse noodles served with a variety of mushrooms and small chunks of lamb in broth. Chilies, cilantro, and vinegar can be added at the table to taste. The first floor offers no-frills fast-food dining: Order your noodles at the counter by simply asking for a small bowl (xiao wan) for ¥5.50 (70¢/35p) or a large bowl (da wan) for ¥6 (75 ¢/35p); then grab a table and hand your ticket to the waitress. You'll be served within minutes. The second and third floors offer a la carte dining in a more pleasant, well-lit environment, but menus are in Chinese only.
