About Harsil

Harsil is a city in the Garhwal region in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Harsil is a village and a cantonment area, on the banks of Bhagirathi River , on the way to Hindu pilgrimage, Gangotri , in Uttarkashi district of Indian state of Uttarakhand. Harsil is an ideal place with high historical importance and offers options for adventurous activities like trekking for the adventure buffs. The picturesque view of Bhagirathi River serves as an idyllic location of this town. Harsil has a rich cultural heritage and many wonderful festivals in Harsil are celebrated with grandeur. Ram Navami is a major Hindu festival celebrated in all parts of the country. The festival is marked with the birthday of Lord Rama and is celebrated in the Hindi month of Chaitra.
