Hanakao'o Beach Park lies on the western Maui shoreline immediately south of Ka'anapali. This beach lies south of the Hyatt Regency Hotel immediately off the Honoapiilani Highway. The beach is comprised of dark sand that slopes gently into generally calm waters. Southerly swells, during the summer months, and Kona Storms, during the winter, can cause strong currents. A lifeguard is on duty daily, so ask about safety conditions if the water is rough. Facilities at this beach include: restrooms, showers, picnic tables and off-street parking.
