About
"Hamov" means "tasteful" in Armenian and is pretty self-expressive about this tiny restaurant in Feriköy, Şişli -not far away from Nişantaşi. Ms. Ayda Tokatlioğlu and her family cook the food daily and mainly serve nearby businesses during lunchtime. As such, the food tends to finish quite early in day as well. If you arrive by 11.50 AM you may have a feast, by 1.30 PM you are going to have to do with what may be left over. It is also possible to call Ms. Ayda Tokatlioğlu a few days in advance, and place an order of a kilo or more of some her delicacies such as stuffed vinegrapes, topik or salted pastries like börek or poğaça. Topik is a round mash of chickpeas, potato, onion and tahini. Börek and poğaça salty pastries baked in oven and stuffed with a variety of ingredients: grasses, cheese, potatoes, minced meat, spinach etc. Apart from what is daily cooked, there are also ready-to-eat items on the menu, such as schnitzel and meatballs.
