Hallmackenreuther

Brüsseler Platz 9

About

The chic, mid-sixties decor in the Hallmackenreuther must awaken the earliest memories of its clientele. Most of the hip, thirty-something crowd that come here must vaguely remember the bakelite tabletops and lava lamps, and make themselves right at home. This meeting place for Cologne's mass of graphic designers, architects and media types is indeed one of the cooler places in town, despite the slightly inflated kölsch prices, and occasionally hosts small design exhibitions. The food is also very good, if you're in the mood for something light. The music, however, is definitely not from the Sixties, house and techno usually provide the background music here.
