Gunaydin is one of the well-known and established kebab restaurants in Istanbul. It has many branches both on the Asian side and on the European side. Following the sudden craze of steakhouses and the steak business -which was not as common in Turkey as kebab is-, Gunaydin also opened Gunaydin Steakhouse; and, that too has many branches around the city. Time Out Istanbul cites that the success of Gunaydin, and the reason that it becomes "an obsession" has to do with the fact that it breeds its own animals on its own farm in Trakya. Apart from its delicious kebab, there are also few other interesting mezes, such as mushroom salad and tripe salad.
