On top of a hill, about 15 minutes and a vigorous walk from Oslo city center, the newly renovated Grefsenkollen restaurant offers gourmet food accompanied with superb city views. The building is from 1926 and like a large fairy tale forest cabin, all lumber, with a rustling fire place and heaps of candles. The menu is, well, no menu, but rather memorized by the waiters and full of exquisite surprises. The 3-, 5- or 7 course menu might include moose and several varieties of arctic fish. Excellent service. Grefsenkollen restaurant hosts concerts with popular nationally known artists. Also open for lunch Tue - Sun 1200 - 1600.
