If you take one of the Full or Half Day Tours by catamaran Green Island is approximately 40 mins from Cairns harbour on the Great Barrier Reef. You can take the Reef Rocket which is comfortable and the crew are very friendly and helpful. Options for the half day tour include the glass bottom boat where you can see the reef and fish up close in their natural environment. Or go snorkeling, a swim/lycra wet suit is provided which goes over your swimming costume, along with a snorkel and flippers. Snorkling can be done next to the jetty straight off the beach. Both options are included in the price, if you wish to also go in the semi submersible there is an additional charge. On arrival you can take the island walk which takes about 20mins, also on the island is a reptile park where you can see crocodiles being fed. There is a resort on the island for those wishing to stay overnight.
