About
Over the past five years Penrith City Council has created almost eight kilometres of walking track along the Nepean River. Known as the "Great River Walk", it features spectacular views of the beautiful river set against the backdrop of the Blue Mountains.
The walk features resting points and lookouts where you can see bird and other wildlife in a natural setting. There are even places to enjoy a coffee and something to eat.
Most of the track is part of a six kilometre loop that follows the riverbank on both the Penrith and Emu Plains sides of the river. The walk is accessible from both Penrith and Emu Plains Railway Stations.
