The Great Mosque in Xian is one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China and its location is northwest of the Drum Tower (Gu Lou) on Huajue Lane. The mosque can be found at the end of a covered walkway of tourist shops in the area behind the Xi'an Drum Tower. Once inside it is in many ways difficult to tell that this is a mosque. There are many more Chinese influences in the buildings and the gardens. But it's a quiet and respectful place.
