Its name means "City Hall" and it has made Croatia's largest newspaper's "100 Best Restaurants" list. The "best restaurant in Sibenik" is situated in the loggia (first floor of the old town hall) on the north side of Trg Republike Hrvatska, across from St. Jacob's Cathedral. Vijecnica is the picture of elegance thanks to its loggia setting and an abundance of woodwork inside. The menu is pure Dalmatia, with lots of grilled fish and a few Italian-inspired pasta dishes. Try the peppers stuffed with cheese or the very generous portion of super-big scampi while you enjoy the pure, languid, Venetian ambience at tables that spill onto the square.
