Cooktown and the surrounding area offers a huge variety of unique angling habitats from the sweetwater up in the rainforest, chasing Jungle Perch to the ribbon reefs where some of the best Marlin fishing in the world can be had.

Up here in this small historical town you’ll find yourself in stunning rainforest and mangrove lined rivers and creeks that are virtually untouched by human hand. Species such as Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark, Mackerel, Trevally, Bream, and Queenfish abound in the rivers, creeks and estuaries, whilst out on the reef and coastal areas you’ll find Mackerel, Coral Trout, Red Emperor and Tuna to name just a few.
