The original course was built in 1989 by the first golfers to grace Zermatt and evolved into a 6-hole course ideal for people learning to play. Local figures became increasingly interested in the project and capitalised on the stunning geography of Zermatt, positioning the course at the foot of the Matterhorn with azure lakeside views, as well as glimpses of Breithorn. Since January 2004 the club has boasted 18 holes, thereby rendering it a member of the prestigious Swiss Golf Association.
