About

Adjacent to Devaraj Kunchorn Voraviharn Temple, the Golden Teak Museum was formerly known as Ban Kaew. This two-story structure is a house constructed of the highly prized teak wood but originally in a different province. Huge columns inside are a marvel to look at. A small collection of statues includes some works from Ayutthaya and Sukothai. Also inside are 28 fiberglass replicas of Supreme or highly respected Buddhist Patriarchs. Open daily 10 am-3 pm. Admission 30 baht. No flash photography allowed. Shoes off to enter. Take a Chao Phraya River boat to Tha Thewet. Exit from the pier and cross the canal to the left to get to the temple (wat) and museum.
