About
Gobind Sagar Lake or reservoir is a manmade lake, which was formed due to the construction of the Bhakra Dam. The dam, constructed over River Sutlej, is used for hydro electric power generation. The lake is located in the Bilaspur District, at a distance of 22 km from Nalagarh City. The name of the lake is derived from the 10th guru or teacher of the Sikh community, Guru Gobind Singh. One can enjoy some water activities here such as boating and fishing. There are around 50 species of fishes found in Gobind Sagar Lake. The ideal time to visit this site comes during the time between October and November, when the level of water increases.
