Gente de Pasta

Passeig de Picasso 10 Cuisines: Italian

About

If you are having trouble finding a table at the trendy southern end of La Ribera, you could do worse than head for this gigantic restaurant that specializes (as the name suggests) in pasta dishes. Just don't expect gingham tablecloths and wicker wine baskets; the industrial, warehouse-like interior has nothing common with a typical trattoria. On busy nights, the bare walls and floor make the acoustics a nightmare for the aurally challenged, and the sheer size of the place means that waiters are not normally hovering when and where they should. That said, the pastas and other dishes are perfectly passable, with added attractions such as a caprese salad with anchovies and a fennel and prawns risotto.
