Gautama Siddhartha  was the leader and founder of a sect of wanderer ascetics ( Sramanas ), one of many sects which existed at that time all over  India .On whose teachings Buddhism was founded.Born in the Shakya republic in the Himalayan foothills sometime between the sixth and fourth centuries BCE,noteGautama Buddha taught primarily in northeastern India.
