Gammel Mønt 41

Gammel Mønt 41 Cuisines: French

About

This absolutely wonderful, old, red and half-timbered building close to the main shopping street, Strget, dates from 1734. In the past, this place has been both a hotel and a brothel, but today you'll have to satisfy yourself through your taste buds exclusively. This little restaurant is spread over two floors and has its very own personal charm. There are modern paintings on the walls, and all the furniture and the floor are made of wood. Upstairs, there is room for 25 customers and in the basement for 12. The cuisine is Danish with a heavy dash of French inspiration (or is it the other way round) and is also very original. The menu changes every other week and follows the seasons. The choices for lunch are mainly Danish and feature several classics, which could be Fried Pork Danish style, Smoked Eel with Scrambled Eggs, or Danish Meatballs (Frikadeller) with Spring Cabbage. For dinner, you can try the Grand Menu, consisting of six exclusive dishes. Wines, mainly French, are available.
