Take a drive northeast of Orlando and a just a little north of Daytona Beach to visit Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Intracoastal Waterway on the other, this park provides a spectacular beach area for swimming, tanning and beachcombing. It is named after two legendary Floridians- the singer Gamble Rogers and the railroad owner Henry Flagler. Activities in the park include camping, picnicking, hiking trails, boardwalk, boat ramp, interpretive programs as well as lots of natural Florida surroundings to explore and native wildlife to observe. -Diane Dilov-Schultheis
