Fontainebleau Forest
La Forêt de Fontainebleau
About
The Fontainebleau forest is a site of 28,000 hectares (69,189 acres). You can walk or run (1400 kilometers/869 miles of tracks with no cars among which 300 kilometers/186 miles of marked tracks), bike or rollerblade (1100 kilometers/683 miles of tracks and numerous marked routes) and ride horses. But the Fontainebleau forest is also famous for its rocks on which people climb (150 marked tours). If you are lucky, you might encounter a stag or a wild boar, but in all circumstances, you will see and hear a lot of birds.
