One of the better restaurants of Torremolinos, Figón de Montemar is near the beach, and like so many others it's decorated with glass, tiles, and various nautical paraphernalia. Its chefs call its cuisine cocina de mercado, which means its menus are based on what was good and fresh at the market that day, including the daily seafood catch. From the mountains in the distance comes lamb that is perfectly roasted and seasoned with garlic and spices and served with a mint sauce. Merluza (hake) is baked with fresh spices, and fresh codfish is prepared in a delightful red sauce. Want something more adventurous You can also order oxtail, a local specialty.
