Now in its third edition, this mini-festival continues to celebrate the life and musical legacy of Fela Kuti. This year’s ‘Felabration’ takes place at Amsterdam’s Paradiso on 11 October 2013.The backbeat of a generationThe versatile Nigerian musician was both a pioneer in the Afrobeat genre and a political activist who fought for several causes in his native land before he tragically succumbed to complications from the HIV virus in 1997. However, Kuti continues to inspire musicians around the world. Special guests at the festival include: Ghana guitar hero Ebo Taylor, Afro soul and funk powerhouse Jungle By Night, and a variety of local DJs eager to create a global party vibe.[Photo: Jungle by Night]
