About

This is a cafe-bar devoted to the pleasures of the bizarre but much-loved Hungarian dish called fozelek. Take some vegetables - green beans, peas, lentils, pumpkin, dried beans or even kohl rabi and stew the life and goodness out of them, then mix withsour cream and flour to form a goopy baby food-like mush. Served with a sausage, fried spam or fried egg floating on top. Hungarians love it - cheap, filling and comforting. Simple white walls and a spotlessly clean floor with a series of stools and high tables from whence to spoon the splodge into your mouth. Bright and light, the eaterie even features such sweet homely decorations as a Paddington bear clock, a brass mortar and pestle and a jar of pickled peppers. In the corner is a sink with soap so you can wash up before and after dining. There are three choices each day, depending on the season. Those not in the mood for mush can try a ready-made salad. Pancakes Hungarian style come with nutella spread, cinnam on, poppy seed or cherries. Non-alcoholic drinks - juices, coffee and tea are served too.
