The aptly named Falstaff restaurant at Vila Galé Opera Hotel extends the musical theme adopted throughout the property in a cultured and entertaining way by offering dinner with opera – As Delícias da Ópera – on Saturday evenings. The programme begins with a welcome drink and canapés before guests are ushered to a salon for a lively and animated 45-minute lecture delivered by professional opera singers and accompanied by live performances and film excerpts. Dinner is served in the restaurant afterwards and singing further regales guests during dessert. Refined Portuguese gastronomy is beautifully prepared and carefully served as a three-course meal complemented by fine Casa de Santa Vitória Alentejo wine. The idea is to promote Portugal's culinary heritage and a great classical music tradition in one sitting. Falstaff, which is open to residents and non-hotel guests, can also offer à la carte menu and buffet service options, and there's special Pasta Lounge for those with a passion for Italian cuisine.
