Fairfield Lodge is an unusual Dublin city lodge dating back to 1790. The garden surrounding it is also typical of a small city garden and unique in that it is the only one of its kind which is now open to view. Though this garden is small, it has been cleverly divided into distinct sections to give a greater impression of size. One of these areas, originally a dark L-shaped yard, has been transformed into a glorious yellow garden where the planting is an abundance of cool greens and yellows. Another area is set out in a formal design, surrounding a perfectly maintained lawn in a profusion of herbaceous plants, old roses and climbers. Tea and coffee included in admission price.
