About
This restaurant is fairly hard to find, hidden away as it is in the residential back roads of Buda. Open since 1993, it started out as a pub and then turned into a restaurant. Ownership changed hands in December 1999 and now restaurateur Ferenc Walter rents the establishment from the owners who still live in the two floors above the dining area. Previously, Walter had 12 years work experience with the famous Legradi brothers. The indoor capacity is for only 30 people, but in the summer, another 30 can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the barbecue-style grills. Inside, you can admire photos of rally cars above the bar from the owner's personal collection. Expect a casual atmosphere with polite, friendly waiters. The menu offers delicious soups made from fresh ingredients as well as Hungarian kebabs grilled outside and Chevabchicha, a Yugoslavian dish of spicy home-made meat balls. All dishes come with gigantic portions of grilled vegetables. Light fruit dess erts follow the generous main courses. Quality wine is served.
