About
The security guards sporadically stationed at the gated entrance aren't exactly an inviting presence, but this is indeed one of the neighborhood's finds. It's actually a combined tea garden and restaurant, placed strategically on an outdoor terrace that makes up part of the ancient Byzantine fortress wall. There's a small building situated at the back of the grounds, containing a dining room serving traditional Turkish meals. Because it's owned by the Municipality -- presumably the reason for the guards -- this destination is bone dry (no alcohol). I recommend this place regularly for anyone looking for an authentic, atmospheric, and hassle-free meal at the right price.
