El Aji Seco

Centro, Calle San Antonio, 530 Cuisines: American

About

Ají Seco is a great downtown option for Peruvian food, with several locations around downtown. It is a popular spot for lunch and dinner, both by office workers and tourists. The restaurant is fairly casual, but has good service, including attentive waiters and plentiful pre-meal bread with a variety of sauces, including spicy and mild. Peruvian specialties, with many seafood options such as tacu tacu (a brothy soup with many kinds of seafood) are popular, and ají de gallina, a chicken stew with a velvety suace is also a big seller. Portions are plentiful, and some chifa-style (Chinese-Peruvian fusion) items also appear on the menu.
