The Court Ballet, or rather the dance theatre, is a municipal cultural institution founded in September in result of a transformation of an excellent Ardente Sole court dance group by a dancer, outstanding choreographer, director, and pedagogue – Romana Maciuk–Agnel. The Ballet popularizes and promotes the art of ballet in Poland and abroad with specific consideration to the court dance. It arranges the presentation of shows – ballet performances connected with Poland's and first of all Krakow's history and traditions. The Court Dance Festival, a colourful show attracting many tourists and Krakow inhabitants is one of the greatest events arranged by the Ballet. The group activity combines artistic and educational aspects by, among other things, court dance workshops, and lectures. The group also experiments with modern forms.
