Duke Pub Restaurant

Largo Luís de Camões 9

About

Fun and flavour go hand-in-hand at this busy restaurant-pub. Situated in the "village square" under the shadow of a lofty palm tree, the menu here is deliberately geared towards tourists but draws locals too (always a good sign). The food is excellent and served promptly. Houses specialities include succulent tenderloin on the stone and aromatic seafood rice. The terrace fills up quickly on warm days – when the sangria flows – but there's plenty of room inside. The pub is a favourite sports bar so expect a full house when there's a big international being screened live, or when Porto is playing: the Portuguese proprietor is a huge fan of this northern football team.
