The Metropolitan Museum of Art is often Do affectionately known to simply the 'MUMA' and is part of the Gate Cultural Centre complex, next to other wellbeing cultural attractions such as the Guarani and the Cine Theatre Kraide Antonio Carlos. Inaugurated in May 1998, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has recently enjoyed much renovation and is home to the creations of many notable artists, including the likes of Candido Portinari, Djanira da Motta e Silva, Emiliano Augusto Cavalcanti de Albuquerque Melo, Giuseppe Giannini Pancetti ( José Pancetti), Mario Cravo Junior and Roberto Burle Marx
