Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours

About
Co van Kessel has been running bike tours since 1975. These Bangkok bike tours go off the main roads and down side streets, narrow, labyrinthine sidewalks, and along canal walkways. This is an adventurous way to see Bangkok but it's not so strenuous: the city is flat, making for easy pedaling. The bike rentals come in classic style with the basket up front or quality Trek mountain bikes with shock absorbers. Two guides go with each group, one leading the way and another keeping rear guard so no one gets left behind. During portions of the tours, the bikes are loaded into a boat which explores canals most travelers would never see, before stopping at another pier to continue the ride. Two Bangkok bicycle tours are half-day affairs ranging from 3-5 hours and including parts of Chinatown and the west side of the Chao Phraya River, Thonburi. A full-day bike tour adds the use of the Skytrain and takes a much longer and slightly faster ride. There are helmets available for both kids and adults, and child seats as well. Tour prices include plenty of water along the route, a local meal, and any ferry boat or longtail boat fees. Children under 12 get a discount of 25% and if they don't need their own bike, they ride for free. Co van Kessel also offers a walking tour of Bangkok's colorful Chinatown as well as a straight-up boat tour.
