This basement club is cramped, dingy, smoky and offers dubious sightlines for the big-name folk and pop acts inhabiting its stage, despite this, it is one of Montreal's most endearing show bars. The very attractive bar features an exposed flagstone wall and the city's only known Jägermeister tap; meanwhile, the stage and ratty tables set up in front of it resemble nothing so much as your parents' rec room. Be sure to arrive early if you're hell-bent on getting close to your favorite act, as the tables fill up quickly. Cash only.
