City Beach is approximately 8 kilometres west of Perth. It was the winner of the 1999 Best Beach Award, presented by Keep Australia Beautiful Council.City Beach is the venue for National Surf Lifesaving carnivals and is a popular swimming place for many Perth residents. Fishing is also a favourite pastime for locals in the evenings. Beautifully landscaped recreational areas and modern facilities add to its appeal.
