About

A venue truly devoted to music, the Cité de la Musique, situated in the South of the Parc de la Villette, near the Conservatoire de Paris, was designed by the architect Christian de Portzamparc. It provides access to musical culture through its concerts, museum, educational and editorial activities for adults and children. The museum, with a permanent collection of over 1,000 instruments and pieces of art, as well as 2 temporary exhibitions each year, promotes a heritage dating from the 17th century to the present day through world music. Audio guides and headphones for children and adults are available and everyday a different musician presents a mini-concert in the museum.
