The 150 year old Citadella restaurant has the atmosphere of a medieval banqueting hall in a brick-domed cellar. Frequented by tourists who pop in for a quick bite or who arrive on coach tours after admiring the Liberation monument and the panoramic view of Pest. For this reason, it is always bustling and lively. Three hundred people can eat here in one sitting. Gypsy bands perform live music in the evenings. The food is the usual Hungarian fare of meat and two veg - stuffed rolled pork is popular and a hearty reward if you have just staggered up the hill on foot. Hungarian wines and good desserts are also available.
